When conventional modules exhibit vibration or accuracy deviations under heavy loads, the KK86 is your ultimate solution. As one of the largest and most rigid models in the KK series, the KK86 features an extra-wide 86mm U-shaped steel base and a large-diameter Ø20mm ball screw. Engineered for demanding industrial environments, it delivers tank-like stability while handling 50kg-80kg loads during high-speed reciprocating motion. This makes it the ideal foundation for constructing large gantry systems and heavy-duty handling manipulators.

In the world of precision modules, if KK40 is the nimble assassin, then KK86 is the berserker clad in heavy armor.
When confronted with loads exceeding 50kg, many engineers face a dilemma: should they force two KK60s into parallel operation? Or simply deploy a single KK86?
From a structural mechanics perspective, the KK86 represents more than just a dimensional upgrade—it signifies a physics breakthrough in rigidity and critical load capacity.
Rigidity does not scale linearly with material width but follows a near-cubic relationship.
The KK86’s base width measures 86mm—approximately 43% wider than the KK60. Yet in section inertia, the core metric for bending resistance, the KK86 achieves exponential improvement.
This means that when suspending the same weight on the KK86, the microscopic deformation of its guide rail may be only a fraction of that seen on the KK60. For equipment demanding micrometer-level precision, this “rock-solid” geometric rigidity represents a physical advantage that no control algorithm can compensate for.
Why choose a larger module for heavy loads? It’s not just about appearance.
The KK86 incorporates larger-diameter steel balls internally. Under identical loads, these larger balls create a greater contact area (contact ellipse) with the rail.
According to Hertzian contact theory, a larger contact area reduces the contact stress per unit area.
Small modules under heavy loads: Excessive contact stress causes balls to carve into the raceway like sharp blades, drastically reducing lifespan.
KK86 under heavy loads: Stress is dispersed, the raceway “feels” relaxed, and rated lifespan (L10 Life) naturally extends significantly.
Engineers designing long-stroke systems know the pain of “critical rotational speed.”
When lead screw length exceeds 1 meter, smaller diameters must drastically reduce speed to avoid resonant vibration, leading to inefficient equipment.
The KK86’s standard Ø20mm lead screw boasts approximately 2.4 times the sectional rigidity of a Ø16mm lead screw.
This robust shaft core significantly elevates the screw’s natural frequency. Consequently, even at 1.2m or 1.4m strokes, the KK86 confidently operates at high speeds. It stands as the optimal solution among single-axis modules, masterfully balancing “long stroke” and “high speed.”
